Reflection to the perspectives
I think that are very interesting the perspectives , each of its elements
are very useful in education. So as a conclusion we have
to be present and involve with these perspectives.
Theories and perspectives
Theories give us perspectives, they are
little windows of a house, those give us differents points of view. There are 3
perspectives:
Behaviousrisim: That use mind as a little
box. The type of learning is regular and has expected responses the instructions are repetition and
reinforcement, that mean that practice make perfect.
Cognitivisim: use mind as a computer. The
type of learning is recall stored information, long term memory . the
instruction is to grab someone attention and help him to storage it
Constructivisim: use mind as a rhizome interconected modes: differnts skills and
abilities learning knowlesge by building by doing. The instruction is guiding
problem solving.
There are 2 mayor types of theories:
DESCRIPTIVES : THEY TRY TO EXPLAIN “What is
learning” It is a learning theory that describes what is learning and how its happends
Prespective: Focus on “how do we help
people to learn” it is an instructive theory and consist in giving us methods
to foster learning.
BOTH OF THEM HELP US TO DEVELOP THEORIES

Presentations *-*
Three groups presented
A) What are the most interesting elements of each character in today’s presentations?
Charater 1:
SAINT AUGUSTINE
I found very interesting his methods, maybe we need to implement this technics here, because the education in our country is very square. Rephrase questions to make them more understandable I found very good.
Charater 2:
Friedrich Fröbel
The relation between student and teacher is the most interesting in her preposition in the education, in the most similar with our education , because the teacher has to be a guide , give orientation and learn with plays , new works and activities.
Charater 3: John Dewey! WE PRESENTED THIS CHARACTER
B) What do you think about co-evaluations?
I don't like the co-evaluations , because I think that the teacher has to evaluate, look for specific details and more things that should be evaluate .

John Dewey
a.- What is the historical context of this character?
Answer: From the view point sociohistorical we must take into account the particular time
that the U.S lived. High lights include mobility U.S, borders and colonization of new
territories. Ductility and permeability of social organization. Social stratification flexible.
Relativization of the principles and practices of historical heritage. Democratic way of life. In
short, an open social climate. In the philosophical, we have to place in Dewey's pragmatism.
b.- Describe the character. Mention the main aspects of his life.
Answer: He was born on October 20th, 1859, Burlingtone, Vermont, He died June 1st, 1952,
New York. He lived in USA. In 1982 he moved to Baltimore and enrolled at John’s Hopkins
University, In 1984 he obtained his doctorate for a thesis about Kant. He married a former
student named Alice Chipman. In 1900 he assumed teaching pedagogy course at the
University of New York, which premiered his School of Education. His ultimate destiny as a
teacher would be the University of Columbia. And with 87 years he got married a second time
and adopted two children.
c.- What does this character propound in education?
Answer: Considered the founder of progressive education movement. John Dewey had a
great influence on bourgeois philosophy and sociology aesthetics and education in the United
States, was the founder of the "Chicago School" of pragmatism. Hegelian at first, after passing
through evolutionary positivism, developed a new version of pragmatism, to which he gave
the name of instrumentalism or humanistic naturalism. He led the "League of independent
political action" that took very hard in the anti-Soviet propaganda.
d.- What is the role of the teacher in his model?
Answer: Directed Learning. It relies on the child’s interest, promotes integration, intrinsic
motivation, flexible grouping and job choice. Conducive environment that stimulates the
necessary response, the teacher must be observant and discover the interests and needs of
children and awaken their potential. It has the most important responsibility in the process of
connection between theory and practice. Highly qualified, specialist in each subject,
constantly worried and inquiring about child behavior. Reflect on their own experiences and
continually change their teaching strategies according to the results
e.- What is the role of the student in his model?
Answer: Active Role. Is prepared to live in their social direct experiences, living group works in
a collaborative manner. The student moves freely around the classroom, perform activities
that allow to discover knowledge.
f.- Give an example of his model in a specific situation
Answer: Dewey's model is straightforward to knowledge for the students involved so the
class will be dedicated to teaching the specific topic directly using the living resources or
support material, making the student also explore, participate and clarify, you get the results
expected from the teacher's planning.
The situation: the student is distracted, does not follow the class, as appropriate, only the
student tends to encourage more students to follow, that's when the teacher must act,
analyze and think about an alleged plan b, and that something is wrong the method. The
solution would be to use a second plan, to capture children's attention and prompt them to
persuade, one of the great ways is to make students do, to work with teaching, do practice in
this area, so would be kept busy and most importantly learning and himself.

what we expect about this subject
We think that you are going to teach us how to aplicate the best methodologies to teach english in a didactic way, that means that we need to use all the tools and materials we have, that way we can create a class, more didactic and relaxed, but without losing the objectives :)
